ASCOPE University Roadshow at Universitas Pertamina Explores ASEAN’s Energy Transition and Diplomacy

The ASCOPE University Roadshow continued its outreach initiatives with a visit to Universitas Pertamina, featuring a session titled “From Oil Rigs to Green Grids: ASCOPE and the Future of ASEAN Energy Diplomacy.” The session served as a platform to engage students in discussions on the evolving energy landscape and ASEAN’s regional energy cooperation.

The event was officially opened with welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Ir. Rudy Sayoga Gautama, IPU, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, and Dr. Dewi Hanggraeni, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Diplomacy, Universitas Pertamina.

The session featured insights from Ms. Margaretha Thaliharjanti, ASCOPE Country Coordinator of Indonesia, and Ms. Novita P. Rudiany, Lecturer in International Relations at Universitas Pertamina. The speakers shared perspectives on ASCOPE’s expanding role in regional energy diplomacy, the importance of cross-sector collaboration, and ASEAN’s strategic direction toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

Through this interactive engagement, students gained a deeper understanding of ASCOPE’s mandate, the dynamics of regional energy cooperation, and the challenges and opportunities associated with ASEAN’s energy transition.
