ASCOPE COUNCIL

Within the ASCOPE Organization
the Head of the National Oil Company in each Member Country serves as a Council Member. The ASCOPE Council is the highest authority within the Organization. The ASCOPE Council Members meet annually around October/November to review the past year’s activities, to recommend future course of actions, to review and approve the ASCOPE’s Annual Work Program and Budget. The Venue and the Chairmanship of the ASCOPE Council Meeting is rotated alphabetically among ASCOPE Member Countries, subject to ASCOPE Member’s ability to host. The ASCOPE Council Member of the Host Country acts as the Chairman of the Meeting.

In general the scope of work of the ASCOPE Secretary In Charge are as follows:

Manage ASCOPE activities including working committees meetings outside of the regular National Committee, Council Meeting and the quadrennial ASCOPE Conference and Exhibitions
Represent ASCOPE in dealing with third parties (i.e., HAPUA, CCOP, PETRAD, ACE, AMEM/SOME, ASEAN +3 and ASEAN +6 and other international energy cooperating agencies)
Present ASCOPE’s progress and achievement reports to the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM)
Act as the custodian of all ASCOPE reports and documents
Responsible for all ASCOPE publications
