The 38^th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Energy and Associated Meetings (SOME 38) chaired by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade took place virtually from 24^th to 27^th, August 2020.

ASCOPE Secretariat headed Dr. Tran Hong Nam, ASCOPE Secretary-in-charge attended the meeting with heads of delegations from ASEAN countries, ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Energy Center, International Energy Agency (IEA), International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), and other countries (China, Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, India, Russian Federation, USA, European Union)....

The meeting reviewed outcomes of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) for 2016-2025 and finalized plan for the second phase (2020-2025).

Dr. Tran Hong Nam, ASCOPE Secretary-In-Charge reported to SOME 38 update on Trans ASEAN Gas Pipeline Program and final result of LNG Bunkering study.

Following SOME 38, the 38^th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) will be held by early November 2020.
