Pertamina hosted the 8th ASCOPE (ASEAN Council on Petroleum) Mid-Year Task Force Meeting from May 27 to 30, 2024, at the Patra Bali Resorts and Villa. With the theme "Enhancing Energy Connectivity and Resilience," the meeting was attended by 150 participants from nine ASEAN Member States: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The mid-year task force meeting focused on discussing regional strategies and actions in the energy sector, divided into four streams: the Exploration and Production Task Force, the Gas Advocacy Task Force, the Clean Energy Task Force, and the Policy, Research, and Capability Building Task Force. Key highlights of the flagship programs included the Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline, ASCOPE Decommissioning Guidelines, and the Methane Leadership Program.

This year, Pertamina introduced several new programs: a Leadership Program attended by CEOs, V-level executives, and state officials of ASCOPE Council Members; a Business Development Meeting; B2B sessions; an exhibition; and bilateral meetings. These innovations sparked more business-driven collaboration, with over 15 business meetings (both bipartite and multipartite) held.

In alignment with the program, the ASCOPE Gala Dinner showcased the rich cultural diversity of ASEAN Member States, featuring the Rajalaya dinner service, curated culinary options, and various cultural dances. The evening culminated in an Angklung performance by 150 attendees, conducted by Saung Angklung Udjo, symbolizing ASEAN connectivity.

The event also marked the early stages of Indonesia's transition to leadership in ASCOPE as Secretary-in-Charge, starting in November 2024 and continuing until 2029, succeeding the current leadership of Vietnam.
