Sulawesi, Indonesia – November 19-20, 2024 – PT Pertamina successfully hosted the Methane Leadership Program (MLP) 2.0 Workshop, bringing together industry experts to discuss and enhance methane emission measurement techniques. The two-day event featured comprehensive field visits and technical discussions, underscoring Pertamina’s commitment to sustainable energy practices.

On the first day, November 19, the workshop took place at the JOB Tomori and Donggi Matindok fields in Sulawesi. Participants received an in-depth overview of the operations at these fields and explored various methodologies for measuring methane emissions. The testing phase involved collaboration with key industry operators, including JGC, SLB, Infero, and Testo, who demonstrated advanced measurement technologies.

The second day, November 20, featured a site visit at PT Pertamina EP, focusing on real-time methane detection and monitoring techniques. Attendees observed the implementation of cutting-edge equipment for tank detection, including Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras and Testo sensors, which enable precise and close-range methane monitoring.

The MLP 2.0 Workshop and site visit reinforced all MLP members dedication to reducing methane emissions and adopting best practices in environmental stewardship. By engaging with leading industry stakeholders, the initiative aligns with global efforts to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency in the energy sector.
