On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the Clean Energy Task Force (CETF) Meeting was held in a series of events at the 49th ASCOPE Council Meeting. The event was held at Petronas Leadership Center in Selangor, Malaysia.

The meeting discussed the previous meeting at the 8th ASCOPE Mid-Year Task Force Meeting, progress, and plans for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 2025. The CETF meeting was chaired by Mr. Muhammad Huzaini Ghazali (Petronas), chairman of the CETF, and was attended by CETF members from other ASCOPE countries.

This meeting discussed CETF KPIs:

  1. Securing business-building collaboration with ASCOPE members
  2. Shaping and influencing ASEAN's position on energy transition & decarbonization
  3. Incorporating clean energy solutions into the ASEAN Plan of Energy Cooperation (APAEC)
  4. Facilitating collaboration between public and private sectors, with ASEAN Dialogue Partners
  5. Creating awareness of the significance of green funding in ASEAN via engagement and sharing sessions, with key international organizations

This meeting discusses CETF Work Plan 2025:

  1. Securing business-building collaboration with ASCOPE members
    • Sharing sessions among ASCOPE members on clean energy projects, needs, and roadmap
    • Continued with partnership building among ASCOPE members (e.g. MoU on technology sharing or potential collaborative projects)
  2. Shaping and influencing ASEAN's position on energy transition & decarbonization
    • Integrated workshop focusing on advocacy to strengthen ASEAN's position on energy transition and decarbonization, based on the sharing session result (e.g. in renewable energy, low carbon solutions, or carbon credits collaboration)
  3. Incorporating clean energy solutions into the ASEAN Plan of Energy Cooperation (APAEC)
    • Continuous collaboration with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and providing insights on APAEC, particularly for the preparation of APAEC 2026-2035 (e.g. on clean energy roadmap and initiatives)
  4. Facilitating collaboration between public and private sectors, with ASEAN Dialogue Partners
    • Facilitating collaboration with ASEAN Dialogue Partners, based on the sharing session result (e.g. in renewable energy, low carbon solutions, or carbon credits collaboration)
  5. Creating awareness of the significance of green funding in ASEAN via engagement and sharing sessions, with key international organizations
    • Continuous awareness building and engagement (e.g through clean energy knowledge sharing) towards identified key international organizations or institutions
